Formally incorporated in the 1950’s, the Amarillo Gun Club has long been known as one of the most renowned clay sports facilities in the nation. Numerous Amarillo Gun Club shooters have been inducted into many different shooting halls of fame. The Club has held countless championship and benefit shoots over the years, featuring thousands of competitors.
Amarillo Gun Club has hosted numerous Texas State Championship Trapshoots. AGC leads the region in throwing registered trap targets, and we are one of few clubs in the United States to host ATA registered shoots year-round. This provides the Amarillo economy with close to a $1 million economic impact in years that the State Shoot calls Amarillo home.
The Amarillo Gun Club has been dedicated to promoting youth shooting since its beginning. AGC hosts numerous 4-H, Boy Scouts of America, YoungLife and other youth shoots and safety clinics. The AGC is the state's largest source of funding for the Texas Trapshooters' Association Scholarship Fund, which annually awards a college scholarship to a Texas high school graduate with a three year shooting record and community leadership.
Hunter education classes have been taught at the Club for many years, and area charities rely on the AGC in hosting major fundrasing events. The newly formed Tri-State Shooting Sports Foundation calls the Amarillo Gun Club home, which should greatly enhance our youth and educational offerings in years to come.
As we look to the "Next Fifty Years" join us and become part of this remarkable shooting sports heritage.
